A new SEC rule is a HUGE WIN for investors & employees of public companies.
Plus, incredible strategic opportunities for L&D!
As of 26 August 2020, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission now requires “the disclosure of key human capital metrics and initiatives with a focus on attraction, development, and retention”
The purpose of modernizing the disclosure statement is to allow investors to make more informed investment decisions. Public disclosure of human capital value will also provide current and future employees insights into an organization’s people practices.
In this Idea Exchange thread, we can discuss why HCM disclosure is important, what L&D needs to do to prepare for reporting, and how L&D can support reporting initiatives.
If interest, ELE can invite David Vance, Executive Director at the Center for Talent Reporting, to facilitate a learning circle conversation around L&D’s role in Human Capital Management (HCM) Disclosure. David served on the ISO 30414:2018 committee responsible for selecting the skills & capabilities global standardized metrics organizations will use for reporting.
If you are seeking a basic understanding of Human Capital Disclosure as mandated by the SEC, you can view my ATDChi webinar.
We look forward to sharing insights and engaging in this timely discussion with you.
