Latest i4cp Research

Advancing Workforce Readiness

Organizations are facing a looming talent exodus and fierce competition for the very limited supply of employees with the right skills for future needs. i4cp’s global study Accelerating Workforce Readiness found that only 30% of the 1,300 business professionals surveyed worldwide believe their workforce currently has the skills and capabilities necessary to advance strategy over the next 1-3 years.

Significant opportunity lays within their current workforce, however. Unfortunately, most companies do not have a good grasp of the skills of their current workforce. Consider these stats:

⭐ Over a quarter (28%) of participants stated that LinkedIn knows more about the employee base than they do

⭐ Only 12% said their organization's upskilling/reskilling initiatives are effective

⭐ 39% of survey participants indicated that for most employees it was easier to find a job externally than internally.

What we will explore together:

i4cp Senior Research Analyst Tom Stone will discuss these findings and many more, with an emphasis on the best and next practices that organizations need to implement to promote a culture of continuous learning and a high-level of workforce readiness.

Hardwired to Learn

Levering the Self-Sustaining Power of Lifelong Learning

We are all born with an inexhaustible and undeniable potential to learn. The brain has 200 billion neurons linked to one another through hundreds of trillions of connections called synapses. Neuroscientists are discovering the mechanisms of the brain that underpin theories of neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to modify, change, and adapt both structure and function in response to “experiences.”

Teri details in her new book how to harness the transcendent power of lifelong learning to sustain your career, be resilient in the face of change and reveal your greatest potential.

What we will explore together:

Based on cutting edge neuroscience and cognitive psychology, this book will debunk learning myths that hinder your ability to be a learner as well as provide you with:

⭐ Strategies to overcome the predominant barriers to learning.

⭐ Resources and ideas for integrating continual learning in your daily life.

⭐ Approaches for developing a life-long learning practice.

Strategies to align People for Supporting Innovation

Current circumstances in our country and the world thrusted organizations into the reality that the future of work is NOW. What does this mean for talent management leaders and the people in your organizations? There aren’t any playbooks or best practices for us to reference. This is a time for reinvention. What will it take to keep talent aligned with the business while addressing the health and well-being of every human being in the workplace yet to be defined?

Discussion we will explore together:

We’ll focus our roundtable discussion on the following:

⭐ What are examples of digital transformations organizations are going through, and our role in that transformation?

⭐ How can L&D/OD/Talent make an impact during large-scale business transformation initiatives?

⭐ What role do we typically play and where would we like to play (e.g., being brought in earlier)?

⭐ How do you see using automation and AI within HR?

⭐ How are companies navigating the transition to Future of Work skills, including the role and
impact of automation/AI, impacting employees?

⭐ How important is transparency on this issue?

⭐ How do you partner with extended internal teams who are also trying to partner with the same internal clients? (e.g. HR Business Partner/Talent/IT/PMO) (How to communicate value and truly collaborate as an equal partner) (Sitting on same side table)

⭐ What are your biggest lessons learned/mistakes?

⭐ How can our teams help drive organizational change and innovation?

Relationship Resiliency

Using Simple OD Tools in Hybrid Environments

We ask managers to address complexity every day. But we often fail to provide those managers with frameworks for both understandings that complexity and rendering it harmless.

At ELE's last Exchange, CDW shared we me a 4 R’s change tool that helps managers navigate transformation using a more empathetic approach.

We will explore together:

As Talent leaders, let us explore personal OD tools that help reframe the rapidly evolving workplace for building relationship resiliency in hybrid environments.

Idea and Knowledge Sharing

Walk-through ELE's Powerful Learning Platform

For twenty years, ELE has been helping learning leaders get fresh ideas, elevate their teams and improve business impact. Like this Exchange, most of ELE's purposeful collaboration has been in-person, at events.

As L&D evolves, we need to continue to be more agile in preparing learning leaders for the future of work. With this opportunity, ELE experiments with creating online experiences and a robust collaborative platform.

We will explore together:

In this session, we collaborate on Learning Platforms and the importance of Customer Journey Mapping & Network Effects.

As shared by Harvard Business Review’s in their Using Customer Journey Maps to Improve Customer Experience blog post, “a customer journey map is a very simple idea: a diagram that illustrates the steps your customer(s) go through in engaging with your company, whether it be a product, an online experience, retail experience, or a service, or any combination.”

WHY attend this session? As we customer journey map together, you can help Alex Wang, Lead User Experience Architect at ELE, validate the current capabilities and help us identify additional needs. With robust community sourcing, you don't need to solve everything by yourself.

How to be a Consultative Learning Partner

Workplace learning continues to change and evolve, bringing along not just challenges and exciting opportunities but also the need for L&D to constantly develop its skills to meet the demands of its people and organizations.

Add this to the importance of acting as a business partner, to align learning to business objectives, and there’s a challenge for L&D professionals to remain ahead of the game.

We will explore together:

Here are skills from What makes a successful L&D partner (2018, Training Journal) help us be consultative:

⭐ Understanding the business problem
⭐ Build, Buy or Borrow (Curate)
⭐ Supporting performance
⭐ Evaluating impact
⭐ Managing enterprise learning
