ELE's Upcoming 2012 Peer-networking Opportunities

We are kicking off the New Year with strong January peer-networking options for you to choose from (see SPOTLIGHT above) and by expanding Amy Dordek Dolinsky's Top Restaurant Ideas for Chicagoland Learning Leaders to 25 venues for 2012.

Last month we kicked off a project to write a new book with our Enterprise members and many colleagues have already contributed. We are using the little book Never Stop Learning, produced by 50lessons.com, as a "formatting" role model. This nifty little book comprises 14 insightful essays written by CLOs. Close to home, Karen Kocher (CLO @ CIGNA) wrote about How Social Networking Sites Incentivize Learning and Bob Cancalosi (CLO @ GE Healthcare) wrote about how Effective Leaders Are Self-Aware. The concise format is outstanding and would be ideal to create a new book for our October 1, 2012 conference, SET THE ROADMAP FOR CONTINUOUS LEARNING: Delivering CONSISTENT Business Results.

Borrowing from Harry Kraemer's From Values To Action chapter on Execution and Implementation, let's have our book include four Continuous Learning essays, 500-words each, on Delivering CONSISTENT Business Results, focusing on each of the following four strategic areas: Strategy, Operations, People, and Measurement. This would result in a total of sixteen essays we publish as a book. The 500 word or less format we are looking is pretty much a "short story" focused on ONE Pearl of Wisdom that was able to demonstrate business impact concluding with a couple of take-away bullets.

New this year, our 2011 Chicagoland Learning Leaders Conference will be highlighted and reviewed at DePaul’s News From the Field session that gathers those who attend important adult learning conferences to share their experiences and learnings. It’s a free, in-person lunchtime event being held downtown Chicago on October 12th.

Hosted at McDonald’s Hamburger University celebrating their 50th anniversary, the event was highly INTERACTIVE EXCHANGE and designed as an intense action learning experience of peer-collaboration and after-hour cocktails.
