WHAT MAKES 'MEALS FROM THE HEART' SO IMPORTANT? Families that stay with us often return to the House after a long day at the hospital and cooking a warm meal for themselves may be the last thing on their minds. ... 'Food For Folks' volunteers bring the ingredients needed to cook a warm meal for either lunch or dinner to the House and use our kitchens to prepare and serve the meal. … It is a great opportunity for companies, families, organizations, friends and church groups to give back to the community in a tangible manner.
HOW MANY PEOPLE SHOULD WE PLAN ON COOKING FOR? Plan to cook for approximately 75-100 people. Our new House is huge.
WHO CAN SIGN UP TO PREPARE A 'MEALS FROM THE HEART' MEAL This is a great service project for your work place, church, family, or a group of friends. Approximately 8-12 participants in the kitchen are optimal. Although the kitchen has at least 3 cooking stations, any more than 12 makes for tight quarters. In order to protect children at the House who may be immune suppressed, remember that everyone participating must be healthy.
