On May 10, 2011: The 2020 Workplace: How Innovative Companies Attract, Develop, and Keep Tomorrow's Employees Today. We are working closely with Executive Learning Exchange (ELE) Enterprise members who will be contributing valuable presentations and exhibits at our first full-day greater Milwaukee and Northern Illinois learning leader exchange. We are thrilled to be having our highly interactive exchange at Harley-Davidson Museum for an intense action learning experience with a full-day of peer-collaboration and after hour cocktails at H-D Museum.
According to HBR's Imagining the Future of Leadership blog, “Nearly 60% of companies are facing leadership talent shortages that are impeding their performance. Another 31% expect a lack of leadership talent to impede their performance in the next several years. Yet, in 2009, U.S. companies spent an estimated $12 billion (24% of their overall training budgets) on leadership development programs and services. By any reasonable standard, what we are currently doing to grow and develop future leaders is not working.”
Inspired by our ELE Enterprise members' focus on making their leadership development programs stick, we are delighted to be planning a full day of 15+ sessions based on The 2020 Workplace, co-authored by Jeanne Meister. As part of our morning presentations, Patricia Arredondo (UW-Milwaukee's Center for the STUDY of the WORKPLACE) will lead a panel with local thought leaders continuing the conversation on Preparing for Workforce 2020 … How Should Learning & Talent Development Respond Today?
The first 100 conference registrations will be provided the opportunity to get a complimentary copy of The 2020 Workplace (2010, Jeanne C. Meister and Karie Willyerd).
We are planning 12 - 15 additional concurrent breakout sessions with over 30 diverse thought leaders on timely topics focusing on:
Building Tomorrow’s Workforce
Inclusive Leadership Development
Informal Learning (e.g., Mentoring & Social Learning)
Learning Alignment Strategies & Business Impact
Current Trends: Flexible Environments, Mobile & Simulations
We look forward to having you and over 150 learning & talent development leaders join us at H-D Museum located in downtown Milwaukee; use the Signup Link below to register now.
